Fitness is about so much more than exercise. It's a catalyst for positive changes, and it affects every aspect of your life'.

As per CBSE guidelines, the students of Arunodaya Public School, participated in Fit India Plogging Run, to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, emphasising on promoting cleanliness and fitness together. With the guidance and encouragment of the school principal Mrs. Nikita Kothari, they spread awareness on the need of cleanliness while running. It was intresting to note that with running an effort towards keeping the country clean was also made. The students of Arunodaya Public School cleaned the Vijay park and the neighbourhood of the school while running. They spoke to the local people informing them about the importance of cleanliness, the need of the hour. They prepared placards depicting Swachhta Abhiyan as promoted by Mahatama Gandhi and his vision of clean India. They informed people in the vicinity, about the vision of our honourable prime minister Shri Narendra Modi. They spread awareness through slogans on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Fit India Program. They gave the message that when everyone comes together, the whole country becomes fit and clean.

The awareness program continued in the special morning assembly conducted for all the students of Arunodaya Public School. Students sang Mahatama Gandhi's favourite bhajan “Vaishnav jan to tene kahiye je , peer parayi jane re”. Students gave speech on the life of Mahatama Gandhi and his role in Indian Independence Movement. Principal Mrs. Nikita Kothari addressed the students and made them to take pledge for following Gandhian values. She informed them about the teachings of Mahatama Gandhi like importance of non violence, cleanliness, satya/ truth, forgiveness, not to hurt anyone, maintaining calm, meditation etc. She informed them how by following Mahatama Gandhi's learnings one can become a better person. She shared that if they can incorporate his teachings in their lives, they can be successful in whatever path they choose. The students promised to follow the path shown by Mahatama Gandhi. They also promised to keep their surroundings clean, in school as well as at home.

The students demonstrated that the future generation is ready to imbibe the values and lessons taught by the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The event expressed that the amalgamation of fitness and cleanliness will take India on to the path of growth and success. It also showed that even after so many years Gandhi’s values and lessons can be part of one's life and they are as relevant today as they were yesterday.
